인텔 Competition 유명합니다. 상금도 굉장히 크고요. 미국에 수 많은 크고 작은 고등학생 수학/과학 경시대회 중에서도 손가락 안에 뽑히는 Competition 이니 저 학생들은 이미 자신들이 원하는 대학을 가기 위한 화려한 과외활동을 가지게 되었네요.
참고로, 미국 대학생들이 참가할 수 있는 경시대회 중, 수학에서 가장 큰 것을 뽑으라면 Putnam Competition 이겠지요. 개인적으로, 저도 참가한 적은 있고요. 아무래도, 늘 아쉬움이 남는 시험이기에, 매년 누가 입상했는지, 어디 대학에서 배출했는지 찾아보곤 합니다.
아무튼, 타고난 재능을 가진 학생들을 볼때면 저도 참 부럽습니다...
